There’s a bug in 7.8.0 Kibana to where I can’t use an important visual and the bug is fixed in 7.8.1, Is there anyway to install OSS 7.8.1 over OpenDistro 1.9.0? It won’t let me overwrite the package in Ubuntu.
Apparently, ODFE 1.9.0 is only compatible with Elasticsearch-7.8.0. You can check the version compatibility here
As of now, the best option is to wait for the next release, as we are already working on ODFE 1.10.0 which you can see on the roadmap:
