Hey folks ![]()
Here’s a quick recap of our OpenSearch Chennai Meetup and honestly, what a session it turned out to be! ![]()
We kicked things off with a simple intro to OpenSearch but instead of just going through slides, I wanted to make it fun and relatable. So I used a Tamil Nadu election candidate demo (since elections are happening right now). It turned out to be both funny and engaging, and people really got curious and involved right from the start ![]()
Next up, Suraj walked us through Building Resilient OpenSearch Clusters with Cross-Cluster Replication. The way he explained things using analogies + live demo made it super easy to understand. His take on migration (especially pre-Elastic 7.10) was a really interesting real-world use case.
Then came Sruthi’s session on running AI agents on Kubernetes using Kagent ![]()
The demo was
people were genuinely amazed by what’s possible here. You could literally see the excitement in the room!
We wrapped up the talks with Vish Rajagopalan from Cloudera, who shared his thoughts on performance evaluation for GenAI. It was a fresh perspective, and the demo added a lot of depth to the session.
And of course… we couldn’t end without some fun ![]()
We had a quiz based on the sessions, gave away a cool t-shirt, and the interaction was just amazing.
The best part?
We had around 130+ attendees even though the capacity was just 80! We had to open additional breakout rooms and set up live streaming and the energy was still high throughout ![]()
A huge shoutout to my co-organizer Dhivakar ![]()
From managing logistics to food to photos he handled everything behind the scenes. This wouldn’t have been possible without him.
And this is just the beginning…
We’re excited to bring in more people, more learning, and build a stronger community here in Chennai ![]()
