Quick recap from our OpenSearch Bengaluru meetup (Jan 10) — and wow, what a day it was.
People were asking questions non-stop.
People were still chatting even after lunch.
That’s when we knew things really clicked ![]()
This was our first OpenSearch Bengaluru meetup of the year, and the energy in the room was amazing. Great talks, thoughtful questions, familiar faces, and a lot of new folks joining the OpenSearch community for the first time.
A few highlights from the day ![]()
• Priyanshi Omer kicked things off with a warm welcome, talking about the OpenSearch community, the upcoming OpenSearch Con, and how anyone can get started with contributing. Super clear and very encouraging.
• Sandeep L shared a real-world view of how IBM is using the OpenSearch Project. No slides full of theory — just honest stories, real challenges, and practical learnings that people really connected with.
• Divya Sriram’s session on semantic search and modern OpenSearch capabilities got everyone thinking. The demo was
, and the questions continued even during the break — always a good sign.
• Isha Bhardwaj spoke about observability, sharing real problems she’s solving day-to-day and the insights she’s gained. Clean, practical, and very relatable — lots of great questions here too.
• Akshat Mahla wrapped it up with a talk on context-aware systems and smarter retrieval approaches. His RAG demo using OpenSearch was a crowd favorite ![]()
Best part of the day?
People just didn’t want to leave. Even after lunch, the room was full of discussions, questions, and connections. No tired faces — just curiosity.
