Describe the issue: We have recently moved from Elastic search version: elasticsearch7.10.0 to Open Search Version:2.3.0
Post the implementation of Open Search, users from Morocco reported country border issue. As per the issue reported by users, in Open Search Map they can see a new country created within Morocco (highlighted in Yellow in attached screenshot) named (Polisario - الجمهورية العربية الصحراوية الديمقراطية) , which is not correct, and it should be part of Morocco. Also attached Google map and Microsoft map with correct borders for reference.
Correct borders drawn in green for reference. requesting assistance to correct the borders.
@AMoo-Miki@ashwinpc@kavilla@ps48 - would any of you be able to assist on this? I have not seen any issues for this in the past - your help would be appreciated
Hi @manu
it looks like the issue isn’t in opensearch dashboard but in openstreetmap/openmaptitiles. You can check and try contacting them. You can also change to a custom map Using maps - OpenSearch Documentation
@Manual9960 Thank you for the response. Will you be able to share contact details of openstreetmap/openmaptitiles team or how to reach them, as we explore the alternatives.
The core problem appears to be external map data. To find contact details for OpenStreetMap or OpenMapTiles, check their official websites or community mailing lists. This is often the best route for data issues.
