Logstash compatibility with OpenSearch

I am currently running Logstash 7.16 ingesting into Opensearch. I am planning to upgrade to Opensearch 2.17, do you know if this logstash will be compatible with the latest version of OpenSearch or do
I need to upgrade logstash first.

I configured Logstash-7.17.24 and installed OpenSearch output plugin. It’s writing to OpenSearch 2.9 with no issues. Is it safe to assume that I won’t have issues writing to OpenSearch 2.17?

I think the plugin was not released for Logstash 7.17.x. If you’re looking for a version without compatibility issues, it’s best to use one listed in the Compatibility Matrix table:
