Is metricbeat 7.8.0 compatible with Opensearch v 1.x?

Hi all

I would like to port my Elatsic installation v 7.8.0
with Kibana completely to Opensearch v 1.x

Can my existing metricbeat installation
communicate with opensearch 1.x?

dpkg -l | grep metricbeat
ii metricbeat 7.8.0

Is it possible to run this product in the long term
with opensearch (without a compatibility switch)
or would an alternative to install an alternative?

I think that you’re fine if you take the open-source version up to 7.10.2. I’m not 100% sure when the version/distribution check was introduced, though.
