I’ve been trying to understand how the restore snapshot process works. If I understand it properly in a hot/warm/cold cluster the index(s) will be restored into hot state and then go through the index lifecycle again.
We’re considering migrating a cluster and due to different reasons we would need to use snapshots. The problem is that it would be great (due to the amount of indices to restore) to restore them into warm status, as they should be there anyways (older data). I don’t see any option to do so though.
Please, could you advise if this is even possible? Restoring it in warm status also helps us as warm nodes are less used and it will alleviate the cluster load.
