Minutes of Operations & Project Health Meeting

Wins

  • OpenSearch Java Client 2.15.0 has been successfully released.
  • OpenSearch Performance Benchmarks · OpenSearch Version 2.17 search performance shows improvement over older version 2.x in most query operations.
  • OpenSearch 3.0.0 has migrated to JDK-23.
  • New health metrics introduced for merged pull requests without green/passing CI’s. This metric provides insight into trends for pull requests merged without successfully passing CI tests.

Misses

  • There was a discussion on the issue of MixedClusterClientYamlTestSuiteIT tests leading to overly long GitHub issues with multiple failed tests. The related GitHub issue can be found here: https://github.com/opensearch-project/OpenSearch/issues/14294.
  • Several flaky tests in this suite need to be prioritized for resolution.

Repo of the Week: Anomaly Detection

  • Two untriaged issues currently remain, and efforts are in place to maintain a low count through active maintainer participation.
  • Maintainers to create new forum labels for community discussions to enhance engagement.
  • Currently, there is no public-facing triage meeting, but work is being done to set up one for other repositories.
  • PR rate and velocity, along with code coverage, are looking good across the board.
  • New external contributor added recently
