OpenSearch viewpoint on Elastic's report on Elasticsearch v OpenSearch performance

Hi Team,

I really like OpenSearch as a product and especially what it stands for (fully open source and transparency) and I fully support what OpenSearch is trying to achieve.

Elastic company has recently released a report that allegedly saying Elasticsearch outperforms OpenSearch in big strides: https://www.elastic.co/pdf/elastic-elasticsearch-outperforms-opensearch-while-using-fewer-resources.pdf

Clearly, Elastic will promote their own product and there is probably truth (to whatever degree) to whatever they are saying. But I just want to know what the OpenSearch community has to say about this report.

Is OpenSearch really that slower than Elasticsearch? Are there performance benchmarks done by the OpenSearch team themselves to compare against Elasticsearch?
