ES 6.8.6 upgrade to OpenSearch 2.x

Hi Team, We upgraded from ES 6.8.6 to OS 1.2.3. Now we want to upgrade to OpenSearch 2.x. Any indices which are created in ES 6.8.6 should be re-indexed in OS 1.2.3 before we upgrade to OpenSearch 2.x which we are handling for other indices. How to handle .opendistro_security index? Will it be automatically taken care.
