Disabling swapping vs enabling memory lock

Describe the issue:

In the Elastic documentation I see that they generally recommend Disabling swapping instead of setting bootstrap.memory_lock=true (Disable swapping | Elasticsearch Guide [8.4] | Elastic)

In the OpenSearch documentation however, I am only seeing references to enabling memory_lock (Important settings - OpenSearch documentation).

So, is this just an omission in the documentation or is there actually a different recommendation for this option in OpenSearch as opposed to Elastic ?
