The index takes up more space than the file source

Hello!
Tell me please
I uploaded a file of logs 20mb from apache to elastic with treatments, the indices weighs 60mb
without processing 53mb, without processing and with a maximum compression of 40mb
how can this be? when a raw file takes up less space than an index
