RHEL 9 Support for Opensearch 1.x

Describe the issue:
Hi,
Would like to understand if Opensearch 1.3 version is supported on RHEL9 Linux environment. I understand from the matrix that only recommended RHEL versions are 7,8 even for latest 2.X versions of Opensearch. Is it to be understand there will not be compatible or it has to be tried out.

Hello @Anandhkumar - welcome to the OpenSearch community.

As the 2.5.0 documentation even still says “OpenSearch should work on most Linux distributions, but we only test a handful. We recommend RHEL 7 or 8, CentOS 7 or 8, Amazon Linux 2, or Ubuntu 16.04, 18.04, or 20.04 for any version of OpenSearch.” - I don’t believe it’s been tested with RHEL9
