Looking for Best Practices for Optimizing Elasticsearch Performance?

Hey everyone,

I have been using Elasticsearch for a while…, but I am looking for some expert advice on optimizing performance, especially for large datasets. I have noticed some slow queries and increased resource usage…, and I want to ensure my cluster is set up efficiently.

Here are a few specific areas I’d love insights on :-

Indexing Strategies – What’s the best way to optimize indexing speed without affecting search performance: ??
Shard Management – How do you determine the ideal number of shards and replicas for a given dataset: ??
Query Optimization – What are the best practices for writing efficient queries to avoid performance bottlenecks: ??
Caching Techniques – Are there specific settings or strategies to improve query response times using caching: ??
Hardware Considerations – What are the key hardware factors (CPU, RAM, disk type) that impact performance the most: ??

I would love to hear from the community about real-world experiences and solutions. I have also gone through this thread https://forum.opensearch.org/t/opensearch-optimization-for-search-google-cloud-platform but still need some more help.

Thanks in advance !!

Looking forward to your insights !!

With Regards,
Derek Theler
