It would be great to have instructions how to integrate your plugins with the elastic upstream versions.
Thanks for the feedback. We do plan to continue to flesh out the docs and write blogs on how to build each feature from source and install it on open source Elasticsearch and Kibana. We do not have plans currently to test or document installing these plugins with the Elastic proprietary software that is included in the default download from Elastic, but welcome any feedback if you want to undertake that testing and uncover issues.

What about with the Elastic OSS download?
Yes on the OSS download. We do plan to document building from source. Open Distro for Elasticsearch is built using the the Apache OSS download. Version 0.7 is built on OSS Elasticsearch 6.5.4. So if you download the RPM or Docker images you are getting the Apache OSS builds now. We can make this more clear on the site and in the docs. Thanks!
