Early look at k_NN pre filtering?

Hi all,

Just wondering if it’s possible to get a look at the development of the k-NN pre-filtering feature: https://github.com/opensearch-project/k-NN/issues/376

For example, any pre-release code or other resources?

Would love to get a chance to test out this feature, even if it’s not quite ready for production use.

Hi Pandu,

We’re working on the feature at the moment, the plan is to finish few things and share POC code as part of the corresponding RFC regarding the filtering support.

Once RFC has been published we’ll post an update in this thread.

We need a little bit more time to publish RFC. In a mean time you can take a look to the feature branch with the initial version of our changes for filtering:

Hi @martin.g it would be really helpful if we could know the ETA for the solution of this issue. As, pre-filtering is a critical use case for us.

Is there any new documentation on pre-filtering? It looks like it’s scheduled for next release (Nov 10), would be great to see how it’s going to function.

We’ll be adding some documentation for filtering feature. It’s not in a final state yet and going over review cycles. It should be ready for 2.4 release.
