Document contains at least one immense term in field=\"search.keyword\"

Versions (relevant - OpenSearch/Dashboard/Server OS/Browser):

2.9 / centos

Describe the issue:

Does anyone have / or can make any recommendation regarding this issue of “one immense term”?

Configuration:

Standard install, no configs reelated to field="search.keyword".

Relevant Logs or Screenshots:

I’m trying to index documents, and I would like to know, if i can increase value of max_bytes_length_exceeded_exception.

And, also, if its safe to do it.

AFAIK, this is a Lucene limitation. If it’s a keyword field, I think that OpenSearch just skips indexing it by default, so your only choice (if you want it indexed) is to change it in your indexing pipeline.

If it’s a text field, there’s the length token filter. This would get rid of the error, but it will also get rid of the token :grinning: So we’re back to the indexing pipeline :frowning:
