Core.application.capabilities.workspaces is undefined after upgrade to 2.16+

We’ve tried upgrading our OpenSearch + Dashboard cluster from 2.9.0 to 2.16 and 2.17 and post upgrade are greeted with the following stack on the dashboard:

I’m unable to find anything in the OpenSearch docs what workspaces are and how to disable it. Did anyone experience a similar issue and knows how to deal with this?

Hi @lockwooddev,

Am I correct to assume that you are running OpenSearch version 2.16 and your OpenSearch Dashboards are version 2.17?

We tried the combinations 2.16 & 2.17 on data nodes and dashboard, but the result is the same. No mixed versions.
