# Refresh field list via script

**Describe the issue** :  
Trying to find a way to automate the refreshing of fields for an index via a script. Is there a way to accomplish this via the API or curl request? Thanks

You’re welcome to adapt what you can from [this script I use to do just that](https://github.com/idaholab/Malcolm/blob/3c7709522519fe419b57fa773643bdb8c8f7a6a9/dashboards/scripts/index-refresh.py#L432-L451).
