# Permissions to roles/users

> “Hi Team, We are using Opensearch service 2.5.0 and we need to have roles/users who can create their dashboards + visualisation on Opensearch dashboard. But at the same time, we don’t want these users to import or add any index patterns. Can someone please provide some pointers on this.”

Users can either have read or read/write access to OpenSearch Dashboards’ objects, please refer to the below for more details:
