Still no opensearch-perl, what do we need to get this going? Looks like the elasticsearch-perl client was unaffected by the “product” checks in other clients. Will probably need to think of a new namespace as Search::OpenSearch is already taken (by support for Amazon/A9’s previous OpenSearch) and ElasticSearch’s libraries live under the Search::Elasticsearch namespace

Is there something preventing people from using elasticsearch-perl to access OpenSearch?

But since then, someone started a making a client which might be in a working state. I have not tested it though: [OpenSearch-0.94 - Unofficial Perl client for OpenSearch (https://opensearch.org/) - metacpan.org](https://metacpan.org/dist/OpenSearch)

I released a fork of an old version of Search::Elasticsearch.
[OpenSearch::Client](https://metacpan.org/pod/OpenSearch::Client)
It’s built using the api yaml from [opensearch-api-specification](https://github.com/opensearch-project/opensearch-api-specification)
