# Index Aliases & Tableau

New to OpenDistro here. I have an issue when using tools like Tableau or DBeaver and the JDBC driver, I’m unable to query an index alias. Is this supported or am I just missing something? Thanks.

Hi @scarnley, thanks for reporting the issue! What was the error you encountered? I just created an alias and had no issue querying the alias directly. Please share more details so we can reproduce the issue.
