# Get error when I try to query elasticsearch 6.2.4

v 2.18.0 opensearch and dashboard

I add a data source to an older Elasticsearch server 6.2.4  
When I try to create an index of this external data source I get this error

Data Source Error: [index\_not\_found\_exception] no such index, with { resource.type=“index\_expression” & resource.id=“\_resolve” & index\_uuid=“_na_” & index=“\_resolve” }

is this because the Elasticsearch is so old?  
Are there any settings that can be adjusted?
