# Free text search not working when i use the filters in opensearch dashboards

**Versions** (relevant - OpenSearch/Dashboard/Server OS/Browser):

Hi All,

I am using OpenSearch version 2.19.0. For text data type fields, when I try to search with string matches, it doesn’t work, but the same works from DSL Query.

For example

Add filters - Name is - dash – not giving any results  
DSL - Name: dash – giving results which match a dash string like dashboard
